Imaging Design Platform (Luminous Platform + Sulfur Dev Kit)

Macnica has created a reference design for imaging applications using Macnica Luminous Platform with Sony image sensors and Sulfur Dev Kit with Altera Agilex 5 FPGA.

The Luminous image sensor board directly connects with the Sulfur board through a ribbon cable running SLVS-EC 3.0 protocol using Macnica’s SLVS-EC 3.0 Rx IP core inside the Agilex 5 FPGA. The reference design also integrates an video trimming block, HDMI 2.0 Tx IP core, and Nios V soft processor, in addition to the EMIF Control block to connect with external DDR4 bank as frame buffers, and the SPI bus master block to control the image sensor on the Luminous image sensor board.

This reference design is available to download and run on the platform, and FPGA developers can use the design as a starting point for their imaging applications.
